Dr. Kimberly Bentjen, DDS, MD is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon trained at Mayo Clinic. She holds both dental and medical degrees and has practiced in Reno since 2019.

About Dr. Bentjen
Dr. Bentjen grew up in Northern California and graduated summa cum laude from Pacific Union College in the Napa Valley. She earned her DDS at Loma Linda University, finishing in the top 10 of her class and earning induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
She then earned her MD at Mayo Medical School and completed a six-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, including two years of general surgery training.
Before moving to Reno in 2019, she practiced in both private practice and academic hospital settings in the Midwest and on the East Coast, caring for patients with a wide range of medical, emotional and surgical needs. She later joined Dr. Falke at Sierra Oral & Facial Surgery.
She stays current with advances through continuing education, including 3D imaging for virtual surgical planning and 3D-printed surgical guides.
Care philosophy
Dr. Bentjen knows that talking about surgery can feel stressful. Patients describe her as personable and attentive. She is involved at every stage of your care, answers every question before and after surgery, and tailors your anesthesia plan to your health for safety and comfort.
Outside the office
Dr. Bentjen lives in Northern Nevada with her husband, Niko, and their son, Sandro. She loves sharing meals with friends and family, shopping local, exploring trails and parks, photography, and relaxing with a good book and music.
