Dr. Ryan R. Falke, DDS

About Dr. Falke

Dr. Falke brings an unusual path to oral surgery. Before dentistry, he earned a computer engineering degree from Brigham Young University and published research in autonomous robotics, then worked as a network engineer.

He moved his family to Southern California to pursue dentistry at Loma Linda University, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After a year as a general dentist in the greater Sacramento area, he returned to Loma Linda for his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency.

Training at the only Level I trauma center in the Inland Empire, under the mentorship of Dr. Alan Herford, gave him broad experience in wisdom tooth removal, dental implants, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma and reconstruction. His residency research focused on bone regeneration and bone grafting — work that directly supports successful implant placement today.

In 2016 he opened Sierra Oral & Facial Surgery in Reno with a simple idea: treat people first, with compassion, comfort and expertise.

Care philosophy

Dr. Falke believes calm, honest communication is the best way to ease anxiety. He explains each step before it happens and builds every treatment plan around the person in the chair — not just the procedure.

Outside the office

Dr. Falke and his wife, Stephanie, are raising four children in Reno. The family loves hiking the nearby mountains, exploring Reno’s parks and riding bikes together. He also enjoys golf, snow skiing, racquetball and geocaching.

Giving back

Dr. Falke volunteers with the Reno Adopt-A-Vet program, providing dental care to local veterans, and has supported Flying Doctors and Share a Smile. An Eagle Scout, he spent two years serving in Tijuana, Mexico, where he became fluent in Spanish.
